We are two weeks into the the Ladies’ Lunch sessions that take place in the Karibu Centrein Brixton. All the participants in the group are young mums under the age of 24. As the sessions have started before the start of the school year we had very eager young cooks to work with in the first two weeks. As ever, these young people are up to any task (including dish washing) and were a great addition to the sessions.
They seem to be more open than their mothers to trying out new tastes and textures. It seems that the challange for this course will be to encourage the mums to be more adventurous when it comes to eating and to increase their fruit and vegetable intake. Making chicken a less important part of the diet will be another challange!
