Halloween is the season of pumpkins, one of the most versatile British autumn vegetables. We met at the Calthorpe Projectnear King’s Cross on a mild Wednesday evening in October for the second session of the Eat Club #SoloSupperClub, in association with Pumpkin Rescue week, to discover some of the ways that Pumpkins, not to mention squashes and gourds, can be used to flavour our autumn food using traditional Italian recipes. Our chefs and hosts Ruth and Tessa showed us how to make pasta from scratch and then turn it into a delicious ravioli with pumpkin, followed by pumpkin risotto and of course finishing off with a delicious, sweet pumpkin pie. As usual, we learnt new kitchen skills, had fun preparing the food and of course relaxed together with our 3-course meal and wine and sparkling conversation. A touch of Italy in autumn London. Thanks Tessa and Ruth!
