We had a great turnout to our first ever Singles Supper Club. Despite a very wet morning, by the time we all gathered in The Calthorpe Project the sun had come out and we kicked off the event with a glass of wine and an introduction in the beautiful garden. It was a first for us. Not only running such an event, but also using the centre and its kitchen. We had to improvise a little. However, a whisk shortage and only a few baking trays didn’t stop the group. Everyone seemed ready to pull their sleeves up and get on with chopping, whisking and mixing. Several tired wrists later we had some delicious aioli and meringues (for our Pavlova).
With some Simple light effects we created a magical setting for a delicious meal. The atmosphere was great and everyone was happy to chat and make friends with the people around them. This for us was the purpose of the evening. To bring together a group who want to cook and eat together!
We shall definitely continue with these events. The overall positive feedback was overwhelming and now we just have to figure out the details. So watch this space for the upcoming dates!
