Across five Tuesday this summer holidays, Eat Club are cooking and eating lunch with leading artists, specialist curators, top scientists and community champions and we’d love to invite you to join us.
A great chance to see behind the scenes of some of London’s most prestigious institutions followed by a bespoke cooking session and lunch with international experts sharing food for thought.”
- We’ll visit the British Library to explore their food stories, then continue to the Story Garden to prepare a simple meal in the roundhouse, using herbs from the garden. We will listen to a short reading, eat, chat and get to know each other.
- We’ll take a history walk to the Dickens Museum to look around the house. This will be followed by Victorian cheese on toast – a favourite of theirs – and a chance to learn a little more about the family’s life in the area.
- We will meet Theatre of Debate to prepare a giant summer salad on a purpose-built stage kitchen. Whilst eating, the ToD will chat to us about their work investigating social issues through theatre and making complex topics meaningful to young people.
- We will visit the impressive Francis Crick building to learn a little about their work on fission yeast followed by homecooked veggie pizzas around the Story Garden oven, with an informal ‘meet the scientists’ activity.
- Finally, we will meet with the Somers Town People’s Museum to prepare a sit-down, celebratory meal, inspired by their archive and reflecting the diverse social history of the area giving us a chance to take stock, relax and chat with the History Club about living in the area.
