Champions for Children – Big Give campaign launches on the 8th of June
May 24, 2021
We are excited to be taking part in the Champions for Children campaign launching on the 8th of June on the Big Give donations platform. As part of this campaign, all donation will go towards supporting Eat Club and our Young Leaders programme and match funded by the Childhood Trust.
Why should you get involved?
Young people have been dealt a poor hand by the Covid pandemic and their futures remain uncertain. #FreeSchoolMeals and #EndChildFoodPoverty shone a long-overdue light on the terrible state of child food and nutrition provision and the lack of inclusion of youth voices and their experiences of food inequality. The youth are often overlooked when it comes to policy and decision-making. Therefore, as a charity “for” young people, we believe that Eat Club should be led “by” young people.
How will your support make a difference?
We aim to support young Londoners in food leadership training and development, equipping them with the skills and confidence to drive local effort against food inequality. We will develop a Young Leaders Programme to integrate and amplify the voices of young people within our organisation and their wider communities. Enrolling them in this programme and bringing them to the heart of Eat Club, we hope to reignite their drive and to widen and increase our impact as we move into a post-Covid world.
